Giving Thanks

Today is the day for giving thanks. It seems somewhat hypocritical to only give thanks one day per year. We should give thanks each and every day, for all those wonderful things that make our lives worth living.

I am thankful for my family, my two wonderful children I have been blessed with, no matter how much they drive me crazy sometimes. They are wonderful, caring children, and hold so much promise for the future. I'm thankful for my husband (no matter how much he drives me crazy sometimes *s*), for providing for our family, and sticking by me (mostly), especially as I spend so much time and effort in an attempt to get my health back on track. On that note, I am also thankful for my health. While it may not be great, it certainly can be a lot worse. And I'm thankful that I have the mental capacity to research on my own, and thankful that the internet is available with so much excellent (and less than excellent) information available.

I am thankful for the roof over our heads, and the food in our cabinets and to those living beings who gave them to us with their bodies. I am thankful for my pet animals, the wonderful horses who have taught me so much, those still with us and those that have passed over. My dogs, those with us and those who have gone over, who give me compansionship and unconditional love, and my two felines whose job it is to make sure my lap is kept warm. I'm thankful for our two silly goats, who make me smile and laugh every day, and our chickens who give us eggs and keep the yard bug-free. Also Bunner, our goose, who is a better watch-dog than any of the canine variety of dogs.

And last but certainly not least, thank you to all the friends I have made, both those right here in my town and neighboring towns, and those long-distance friends I have made on the internet over the last 5 years or more. You have all taught me so much, and given so freely of yourselves. And for you, I am thankful.

Thank you for this inspirational and moving entry. We should all memorize this, so that when we're down or off track, we can remember all the marvellous things to be thankful for.
